Spend a week with choreographer Sarah Blanc (Moxie Brawl) to create a new performance piece to premiere at MAKE / CONTACT – our next Progression all dayer, which focuses on dance and physical theatre.

You will work Monday to Friday with Sarah, creating a new dance-theatre performance based on the ideas in her latest work History Of Ireland, in which she re-tells Irish history through a female prospective. Young performers will discover new things about their own culture and history, as well as the stories that inspire them, and this will feed into the finished work. It will be a process of research, discussion, movement and fun!

You will then perform the piece on Saturday 28 October at GLYPT’s MAKE / CONTACT event, alongside History of Ireland.

Sarah Blanc is a choreographer, performer and teacher working within contemporary dance. She creates work with Moxie Brawl, as well as solo work, as well as on choreographic commissions and collaborations. Moxie Brawl is a fresh all-female inclusive dance theatre company that creates work for outdoors, indoors and places where dance shouldn’t be. Moxie Brawl have been supported by organisations such as Trinity Laban and Greenwich Dance Partnership, The Place, artsdepot, Watermans and Company of Angels.

Note: This is an unpaid opportunity for creative young people to develop their practice and experience alongside a professional choreographer.
